Journal entry October 2006: "I return to Lebanon now after 30 years to fill the emptiness that stretches all the way to god. I'll be looking for him there. Love Foregiveness Respect

This graffiti on the wall of the Hotel Dieu, a French hospital in the Maronite neighborhood of Ashrifiyeh, was meant for all. Yet I felt the graffiti writers were offering me some personal Love, Forgiveness, Respect for the accidental fire I started in 1962 with a lighted sparkler, which nearly destroyed part of the hospital.
